Happy Wednesday, Activists,
We hope your week has been off to a good start after an action-packed weekend.
As we plan for this year and our work for the upcoming elections, we realize there are a lot of unknowns. For example, we don’t know who will win the Senate and Governor races. But we do know we are here together fighting to make a better country and a better Pennsylvania. We know how to do the work that leads to victory, together, putting one foot in front of the other. Watch Ezra Levin’s video with his thoughts about what’s next.
Find out what we have planned for this year by coming to our Kickoff Meeting.
OUR NEXT MEETING – KICK OFF 2022 WITH US!
This year's elections are critical as we work our hearts out to elect the Democratic candidates for the U.S. Senate and PA Governor seats in November. The alternatives are just plain unacceptable, and we’ll be doing everything we can to elect the candidates who will sustain our democracy.
We’re holding this meeting twice so you can pick which day and time work for you. As usual, it will be on zoom.
When: Thursday, March 3, at 7:30 pm

POSTCARDS Write to Philly Voters! We love the Philly vibe in our new postcards! And it echoes today's theme of moving forward. The cards are on order and we expect to receive them this week. We’ll send them out to all you postcard writers as soon as we receive them.
We are writing postcards to persuade Philly voters who don’t normally vote in midterm elections to change their habit and vote this year. We must secure Democratic victories for the open U.S. Senate seat and the open PA Governor’s seat and this is one way to do it.
Here’s how it works –
We recommend you order enough cards to write and mail within a month of receiving them.
We’ll hand deliver or ship the packet of postcards to you. We’ll email you all the instructions, addresses, and the script. Please order your postcards in multiples of 50.
We ask that you donate $7.00 per set of 50 postcards to cover our costs. But don’t let the donation stop you from ordering the postcards. On the other hand, if you can, please consider chipping in a little extra to cover the cost for those who cannot.
Here are the Three Separate Action Steps to sign up –
1. Email us at this link and tell us how many postcards you want and give us your delivery address.
2. Donate $7.00 per set of 50 postcards to our ActBlue account at this link. (Plus an extra $5.00 if we are shipping to you.)
3. Purchase your 40-cent postcard stamps online at this link or at your local post office.
Here’s how you’ll receive your postcard packets –
If you are in the Philadelphia area, we will hand deliver the postcard packets to you or you can pick them up.
If you are outside the Philadelphia area, we will ship the packet to you. Please add $5.00 to your donation for shipping costs.
35 DOORS PROJECT - JOIN THE TEAM! We recently had a fantastic 35 Doors Training meeting, and a lot of you are very interested in getting started. See the full description of this project in a recent newsletter. Let us know if you're interested in joining the project and we can send you the recording of the training. We look forward to working with you! OUR MESSAGING PROJECT - FIGHT DISINFORMATION Your voice is powerful – because you’re a trusted source. As a recent study by The Media Insight Project concludes, you have more power to influence than a media outlet: “people who see an article from a trusted sharer but written by an unknown media source have much more trust in the information than people who see the same article from a reputable media source shared by a non-trusted person.”
We know the Republican party is bolstered by major media outlets constantly amplifying their messaging. The Democrats don’t have that benefit and cannot rely on the mainstream media to do that job for them. So we need to get in the game ourselves, messaging the truth and a perspective different from the doom and gloom we see in the media.
We started our Messaging Project so you could use your voice in powerful ways. We hope you will be encouraged to use these short messaging pieces with your friends, family, and neighbors and on your social media feeds.
Here’s this week’s messaging, this time on energy policy –
For Facebook and personal conversations:
America has always been a “yes we can” kind of place. We led the way into space, the internet, and smartphones. But some politicians backed by dirty fuel lobbyists have blocked innovative energy solutions. Let’s level the playing field by choosing leaders who believe in smart solutions for all of us so that we can make the future better, brighter, and cleaner now and for generations to come.
