Register Voters and Have Fun!

Happy Tuesday, Activists!

We hope you had a wonderful weekend.  In case you didn't see it, yesterday we announced the next phase of our postcard project.  We hope you'll sign up to write postcards to Philadelphia voters with us!  You can read all about it and sign up at this link.

REGISTER VOTERS!

We had an idea - let's register voters and have a lot of fun while we're at it!  That what we're doing this Saturday at the Kensington Derby And Arts Festival.  The well-known festival, in its 16th year, will feature art, food, music, drinks, and so many of those crazy homemade human-powered sculptures.

We'll have a tent and table set up and we'll give you all the materials you need to register voters.

When:   Saturday, May 11th, three two-hour shifts -- noon - 2PM; 2PM to 4PM, 4PM - 6PM

Where:  Frankford Avenue from York Street to Huntingdon Street.  We'll give you the specific meeting location once you sign up.

Another Opportunity -- Free Library Of Philadelphia Central Branch

You can register voters at the Free Library!  Sign up and we'll meet you inside the main entrance.

When:  Saturday, June 1st, 1:00PM to 3:00PM

Where:  1901 Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Remember, if you sign up and then find you cannot attend, please let us know!  You can tell us by replying either to this newsletter or to your signup confirmation email.

Voter Registration In Apartment Buildings

And finally, we are in the process of setting up voter registration drives in the lobbies of apartment buildings.   We would love some help making connections with building management, so if you live in an apartment building, let us know!  Let's talk about how you could help us ask the management of your building about setting up a simple drive in the lobby.  Email us at vicki@indivisiblephiladelphia.com and let's talk!

OUR NEXT MEETING - IN PERSON!

Join us for this in-person meeting where our speaker will be Dr. David Nickerson, a distinguished Temple University professor (he's on leave at the moment).  His expertise is in testing and developing data to learn the most effective practices that work to get out the vote and also how to persuade voters to your side.  He will speak to both of these issues for us.

We'll provide pizzas and beverages to begin the meeting and then introduce Dr. Nickerson.  Bring your questions!

When:  Monday, May 20th at 6:00 PM

Where:  Ethical Society, 1906 Rittenhouse Square, Philadelphia, PA 19103

BE A NEIGHBORHOOD LEADER!

You can sign up and help save democracy!   Join our 35 Doors Project and canvass to some doors right in your neighborhood. We give you everything you need for success!  You can reply to this newsletter to learn more.

It's the very most effective and important work you can do to get voters to the polls.  And we have fun!  Reply to this newsletter or email us at vicki@indivisiblephiladelphia.com and let's talk!

You can find more information about how this works in our earlier newsletter at this link.
