Voter Registration & Our Next Meeting

Happy Friday, Activists! We hope your week has been a good one! We have some actions for you below - and more on the way - for this year's general election. So stay tuned for all that, and join our next online meeting to learn more. See below!

POSTCARDS -- MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! You postcard writers are superheroes. No, really. We started with nearly 50,000 voters who have moved to Philadelphia and not updated their voter registration. And you, my friends, are writing to 43,450 of those voters! 43,450 -- let that sink in. That is huge and we are so very proud to be on this team with you! Here's the rundown of who requested the postcards: We had:

  • 342 requests for cards and addresses, mostly from individuals who are writing the cards themselves.

  • 7 requests from people who have their own informal groups they deliver the cards to

  • 5 requests from organized groups, such as other Indivisible groups.

But now, we are finished for this campaign. So please do not ask for more postcards. We'll have more postcard campaigns again, so give your writing hands a rest - AFTER you finish the ones you still have to write! Remember that the date to mail them is September 26th. If you will be out of the state on that date you can mail them before you leave. AND THANK YOU!

JOIN US FOR THIS ONLINE MEETING - LEARN ABOUT THE COURT RACES THIS NOVEMBER We have some critical judicial races on the ballot this November 7th and we want you to know exactly what will be on our ballots - both in writing and in the effect on our lives. So we've scheduled a meeting on zoom to give you the info! The statewide races feature all three of our statewide courts -- Commonwealth Court, Superior Court and Supreme Court. These courts will decide how our democracy works (or doesn't), our abortion rights, and so much more having a direct effect on our lives. So we need to learn and then take action! You'll hear from Deborah Gross, CEO of Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts. She'll give us details about these courts and the types of cases they will be deciding. Then you'll hear from us about the actions we have planned to get out the vote leading up to Election Day. See you there! Sign up here.

35 DOORS PROJECT! Talk to voters in your neighborhood to get out the vote. This is some of the most important work you can do - and it's fun! Check out our 35 Doors Project on our website page! Email us here for more info. We'll give you the training and all the materials you'll need. Vicki will tell you all about it!

And One More Thing: Share our social media pages to make sure you and everyone you know is updated on our projects for this year’s critical elections. Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
