It’s an exciting week.  A lot going on in D.C. and we have some exciting things happening right here.  First, we’re having an outing tomorrow that will be a lot of fun.  And coming soon we’ll show the nation and the world that we won’t stand for Trump’s abuse of power and obstruction of justice.  We'll hold a big rally the night before the House votes on the articles of impeachment.  Details below.

And more postcards!  You’ll find them at the end of this email. TOMORROW – RBG + HAPPY HOUR Join us for an outing to the Notorious RBG exhibition and happy hour tomorrow.  Come out and enjoy the exhibit and raise a glass with friends to toast all the BLUE victories last week!  Details below.

IMPEACH & REMOVE RALLY Indivisible Philadelphia is organizing an Impeach & Remove Rally for the night before the House votes on articles of impeachment.  Of course we don’t know the exact date of this vote so we will keep you posted.  I know a lot of you are all over the news on this and hopefully we will have a few days’ notice before the vote.  It is expected to be toward the end of December.

Other area Indivisible groups and partners are participating in this rally, so we are hoping for a large crowd and good media coverage.

Help us make a big impact with this rally!  Show the country – and the world – that we will not stand for Trump’s abuse of power and degradation of our democratic institutions and values.  Tell your friends and any other organizations you belong to.  We want EVERYONE in the Philadelphia region to know about this and show up. SIGN UP HERE.

Sen. Toomey – Phila office 215-241-1090; D.C. office 202-224-4254; email link Sen. Casey – Phila office 215-405-9660; D.C. office 202-224-6324; email link Rep. Evans – D.C. office 202-225-4001; Phila. office (215) 276-0340; email link Rep. Boyle – D.C. office (202) 225-6111; Phila office (215) 335-3355; email link 1. DEFUND HATE We have only a little more than a week left for Congress to fund the government before it could shut down.  Call our Representatives and Senators to tell them not to give ICE or CBP any special increases in funding.  I know you care about stopping Trump’s deportation machine.  Cutting off funding is the best way to do it.   Make a call today and tell our Members of Congress (MoC) to cut funding for ICE and CBP, and get rid of the slush fund that will allow ICE to continue terrorizing immigrant communities.  Click here to learn more.

Here is your script: Hi, my name is [NAME] and I’m calling from [ZIP].  I’m calling to ask [MoC] to Defund Hate in this year’s budget by cutting funding for ICE and CBP in the department of Homeland Security appropriations bill, and by getting rid of the slush fund that will allow ICE to continue terrorizing immigrant communities.  Will you commit to defund these terrible policies? Thank you for your time. 2. IMPEACH NOW Let's keep up the pressure on impeachment.  Here are your talking points: Evans and Boyle – Tell them you thank the Congressman for his support of impeachment proceedings.  Tell them you have his back and to stay strong to hold Trump accountable.

Casey – Tell the Senator that you want him to hold Trump accountable and to push for a full and open impeachment trial.  Thank him for his support of the impeachment process.

Toomey – Ask whether Senator Toomey thinks it is okay for a president to ask a foreign power to interfere in our elections.  Ask that he remember the oath he took to protect the Constitution. Ask him to speak out publicly that no one is above the law. POSTCARDS! Yes we have more postcards to write!  We’ll write to voters in Florida to remind them to sign up to Vote By Mail.  It’s an extremely effective way to get people to vote.  We’ve written some of these in the past, and now we have another county to blanket with cards.  All you do is come with your writing hand and good humor.  And bring a friend!  We'll be doing this for Pennsylvania voters too once the process is set up as a result of our new law allowing for "no-excuses" vote by mail in PA. If you sign up and then find you can’t make itplease email us and let us know.  We depend on having the right count!
