Happy Wednesday, Activists!
We hope you had a great week. You can check last Tuesday's newsletter and our recent and important newsletter about our fantastic Leaflet Philly Project and how you can get involved and help us strengthen this successful project with hundreds of volunteers.
The first two items below are new events our group is putting on and we're super excited. You won't want to miss these!

NEXT TUESDAY - JOIN OUR ELECTION PROTECTION MEETING!
We know that many people, and many of you, are very anxious about the upcoming election and whether our votes will count, whether ICE will show up at the polls, or anything else that might affect our votes.
We have help on the way! We are holding a super interesting and helpful meeting NEXT WEEK, on Tuesday, September 1st at 6:00 pm on Zoom. The event will feature Jake Sternberger, a voter protection attorney based in Philadelphia. Previously, he was a consumer protection lawyer. He is a lifelong Pennsylvanian who has worked on campaigns from the local to statewide to national level. He is now working with the PA Dems on voter protection.
Jake will (1) explain PA election laws, (2) describe what the PA Dems are doing to protect our November election and (3) what we can do to help.
This is an important meeting at an important time so don't miss it! It will not be recorded.
Where: Zoom When: Tuesday, September 1, 6:00 pm Sign up here to get the zoom link.
SAVE THE DATE HEAR FROM SUFFS CREATOR AND STAR SHAINA TAUB!
This is exciting news! We are thrilled to announce this today because it's the anniversary of the certification of the Nineteenth Amendment, giving all U.S. women the right to vote. -- August 26, 1920.
Here's the exciting part: Shaina Taub, the brilliant creator and star of the musical SUFFS, which describes the women's suffrage movement, will join us on zoom to answer our questions about her and her show. And it is quite a story! The show is exhilarating and inspiring and parallels much of what we are going through now - and shows what our activism has brought and can bring again this year.
This is an in-person meeting for us and we are still working on the location. We will watch Shaina on zoom together and you'll be able to submit questions. You won't want to miss this! We are making this a fundraiser too for our work for the elections. We'll have some hors d'oeuvres and adult and kids beverages, plus some of the music from the show and some video clips too. More details soon!
To get you started, you can watch the recording of the Broadway show on PBS Great Performances (on Passport) if you support PBS. Enjoy!
When: October 28, 5:30 pm Where: The location is to be determined. We will have the signup once we have the location.

SIGN UP TO BE A POLL OBSERVER
Poll Observers are the eyes and ears on the ground at polling places across the state on election day. They assist voters and ensure that every eligible voter can cast a ballot. The PA Dems Voter Protection Team will train, assign, and support you to make sure that you are as effective as possible on Election Day. It's great work so we hope you'll consider it!
Sign up here with the PA Dems for the training and to learn more.
JOIN THE PA DEMS VOTER ASSISTANCE TRAINING
This virtual session is required for anyone volunteering with one or more of the following PA Dems Voter Protection programs: Voter Assistance Hotline, Voter Assistance Textline, Ballot Cure. Sign up to help make sure voters get their ballots counted!
When: Sundays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, at various times.
LEARN TO HELP VOTERS CURE THEIR BALLOTS
Join our friends at VoteProPro, an Indivisible group focused on voter protection, to canvass voters whose mail-in ballot has errors. Your role would be to visit voters at home and either help them in person or leave information so they can fix their ballot and have their vote counted.
Every single vote matters in today’s close elections. You will be canvassing Democratic voters whose mail ballot has an error, and therefore, their vote will not count without intervention.
The focus in this campaign is flippable districts so canvassing will be in the counties surrounding Philadelphia but not in the city itself. You choose the county(ies) where you would like to help.
Every canvasser will have an easily accessible live support system at all times, and of course you can go with a partner.
Canvassing takes place in October, after the online training in September/October. The zoom training is less than an hour. Sign up here.

LEARN TO DEFEAT IMMIGRANT DETENTION CENTERS
Our friends at Indivisible Mt. Airy Neighbors are hosting a meeting to discuss how to fight back against detention centers and win that fight. We're sick of watching what the regime is doing to our communities and together we can use our power to fight hard against them. WANT TO BE ON OUR NEW HOME TEAM?
Are you able only to do the work with us from home? If you have small children, a busy job, limited mobility, our new Home Team Project may be just right for you. This is for those who want to know how they can contribute from home. We aim to enhance the experience of activists who need or prefer to do their work from their home.
We're excited about starting this new group, as we've heard from some folks who want this type of program. If that includes you, take the survey below and tell us more!

BRING THE EPSTEIN FILES TO PHILLY! Fill out the form.
Want to make sure the Epsteiin Files stay front of mind for our elected officials? Let's bring the files to Philly! Have you heard about the Trump Epstein Bookmobile? It's the ingenious project in which the founders copied all of the Epstein file documents released so far, printed them out - all 3.5 million files, and loaded them into notebooks. They have been on view for people who come to the building where they were housed in New York City.
But now, they are on the road in a truck! They are visiting cities around the country and you can vote for them to come to Philadelphiaou can vote for them to come to Philadelphia so the public can view them here. It's every page that has been released, and a demand for every page they still won't. See what they're covering up. It's important that the public sees at least some of them so we can push our elected officials to get the rest released. We don't what any of them to forget about this massive injustice! Here's the link for more info and to vote!
