Get Ready To Vote Early!
35 DAYS UNTIL ELECTION DAY
Happy Tuesday, Activists!
First, please do us a favor and click this simple link to our website or any other link in here to help us reduce the number of bounced emails and so the newsletter gets delivered to you right way. Thanks!
We hope you had a good weekend. We have a jam-packed list for you again so see what works for you. It's always so busy this time of year and election cycle. Hang on!
We all are laser focused on our biggest job right now - getting out the vote and protecting the vote. We have several ways for you to do that and you can go to a recent newsletter here and this newsletter here to find a task that works for you. Keep in mind that we need to win big this November to reduce the threats to take away our votes or that the vote was "rigged" at all. Thinking of the Victor Orban defeat.
With only 5 weeks left - it's time to talk to voters! We have a few options for you and they are all here and below in more detail too: 1) You can come with us up to canvass in Bensalem on Sundays (30-minute drive from Center City on Sunday morning). Or take a bus with the 8th Ward Dems to Langhorne this Saturday October 3, to canvass for the same candidates we're canvassing for in Bucks. Sign up by October 1! And good news! Governor Shapiro will be up there to start the launch! Buses are leaving from City Hall SEPTA station, Temple Univ SEPTA station and U. Penn. Sign up here to see all the details, below too. 2) Canvass in Center City Saturdays - Tuesdays, 9:00-Noon; Noon-3:00 3) Sign up for a phone bank. 4) AND, we all need to talk to our friends and family here and around the country. And encourage them to talk to their circle of friends and family everywhere too. Remind them of the importance of voting and that this is our chance to change what we're angry and upset about. And to vote early where they can.
If we really want to protect this election, we need a giant margin of victory and that only happens with a giant turnout. That way any shenanigans will be less effective because the election won't be close. It's possible! We just need to do it.

CANVASS AND TALK TO VOTERS This is the gold standard!
1) Let's flip a state Senate seat!! Imagine this - we get a trifecta (governor, senate and house) in Harrisburg and what can happen?!? How about higher minimum wage?! Fully funded public schools? More public transit? And more! Yes, that's what will happen if Dems control Harrisburg so it's really worth our time to help get out the vote for the Democrat running in Bucks County to flip a state senate seat - Eileen Albillar. We met her last weekend and she's a great candidate. It's a coordinated campaign with Bob Harvie running against Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) and Bryan Allen, running for State House. HERE'S MORE YOU CAN DO TO HELP WITH THE ELECTION Help keep elections safe and welcoming for every voter!
Remember to check out our earlier newsletter and this newsletter with the many, many options to work at the polls and other jobs to safeguard the election. Are you worried? Are you concerned that something might "happen" with this year's elections? You can assuage your fears by signing up to help keep it all safe! And along the way you'll get a good understanding about how elections are run and that it's a really good, safe and secure process.
NEW - Sign up to be a Designated Agent with the PA Dems. Designated agents assist disabled voters who can't get to their county election office or polling place. Depending on what the voter needs, this may mean picking up and returning balloting materials or a mail ballot as their designated agent, or driving them to vote and back. Also, you will have a dedicated Volunteer Designated Agent Concierge to help you through the process, and to answer any questions you may have. SIGN UP HERE
BANK YOUR VOTE EARLY - HERE'S HOW Get that mail-in ballot dropped off!
If you haven't already, we hope you are signing up to vote by mail. Check your voter registration at this link and on the same page you'll see whether you've signed up for a mail-in ballot this year. (We need to sign up for it every year.). Remember SCOTUS ruled that our elections need to run as they did in the past, with no adverse interference from USPS.
The deadline to sign up for a mail-in ballot is October 27 by 5:00 pm, which is really too late. If you haven't signed up, do it today! Here is all the information to sign up.
Once you get your ballot, vote the ballot soon. And then drop it off at a drop box or at a Satellite Election Office's drop box. Here is the list of all of them. Once you drop off your ballot you'll know that it will go to the election office safely and securely. Avoid the worry about any shenanigans!
Once you have dropped off your ballot, check the status at this link.
Didn't sign up for a mail-in ballot yet? No problem! You can go to a Satellite Election Office, ask for and fill out a mail-in ballot application. Then hand it back in. The staff will input your information into the system and then hand you the ballot. You can then vote right there! Easy-peasy! ![]()
And banking votes early is part of the theme for this "No Kings: Vote Early." We are encouraging voters to sign up for a mail-in ballot and to drop their voted ballot off in a drop box or at a Satellite Election Office early. That's Pennsylvania's idea of voting early.
Here's how we help voters bank their votes early. Our No Kings events take place at the Philadelphia Satellite Election Offices (SEOs). You can see the list of all those offices at this link. The idea is that a voter can apply for a mail-in ballot, hand it in at the SEO, get their ballot back and vote the ballot, and then drop it in the drop box at the SEO - all in one quick trip! That can start happening today!
Let's all show up so voters know that voting in our state is safe and secure! The more we show up with bigger numbers at the events, the more comfortable folks will be to be part of the vote. And it'll be fun! We'll have balloons, signs, maybe some food and music (if you'd like to provide some music reply to this newsletter and let me know!).
After you check out the map of the SEOs, please tell us which office you want to go to at this link. We'll have two shifts so also sign up for a shift at this link.
When: Saturday, October 17, 2 shifts 11:00 - 1:00 & 1:00 - 3:00 (This is a change in shift times). Where: Again, see the locations of the SEO offices at this link and then tell us which office you want to go to at this link. Sign up for a shift at this link.
