Happy Tuesday, Dear Activists ~ After the Dobbs ruling last Friday, overruling Roe v. Wade, we are still reeling from the horrible impact it is having and will have all over the country. Below we have a lot of actions you can take to quell your anxiety or other feelings over this terrible decision. Please take action now and keep it going until election day. It's a long list because we have a lot to do!
CALL TO ACTION You can read where things stand in Pennsylvania on abortion
access right now and where it could go in the future. In particular, the PA Senate is preparing a bill for a constitutional amendment to ban abortions that could go on the ballot for voter consideration as early as May 2023. We can’t let them get this on the ballot. The bill is SB 956. Call your state senator - and tell them to vote NO on SB 956. And if Doug Mastriano becomes governor a constitutional amendment won’t even be necessary, as he has promised to sign an abortion ban into law immediately. We must make sure he is not elected governor. Take some of the actions below to help get that result.
DONATE Find and donate to an abortion fund -- especially one local to you or located in a state with a “trigger law” where abortion is now illegal. People may now need to be traveling great distances to access the care they need, and we can provide resources to make that possible while we fight to correct this barbaric injustice. You can check out this list of local abortion funds in states with these laws in place, and make a donation if you’re able. Supporting their work will be more urgent than ever.
