We hope you had a great week.  You can check Tuesday's newsletter including about our new Home Team Project and our recent and important newsletter about our fantastic Leaflet Philly Project and how you can get involved and help us strengthen this successful project. 

If you or people you know are worried about voting this year, remember - and tell the people you know who are worried - that our elections are safe and secure. Unauthorized voting is vanishingly rare. But Trump is willing to disenfranchise millions through restrictive voter ID laws and cuts to voting access if it means he can hold onto power and force through his self-enriching policies a little longer. 

One of our goals this year is to do everything we can to make sure voters in our communities know how to "bank their votes early" by voting by mail and alternatively that it is safe to go to the polls.  We are putting a special push on voting by mail, to return your mail-in ballot as soon as you can.  That way, Republicans have less time to do their shenanigans with the ballots. 

Below are some actions you can take to help make our elections run better and to help voters get their ballots counted!  Ya'll are the best at this!

JOIN INDIVISIBLE'S ELECTION PROTECTION

TRAINING SERIES

Indivisible has started it's Hands Off Our Vote program to protect the midterm elections.  We will work to counter the regime's chaos with robust preparation to block election subversion.

If you missed the Election Protection 101 training this past week, you can still go to the 201 session coming up and sign up here. 

Remember, if you sign up but can't attend live, you'll receive the recording and all the information from the meeting.

WHAT YOU CAN DO NOW:

1.  Check your voter registration.  Even if you think you're registered, double check it anyway.  You can do that at this link no matter where you live. 

2.  And help others do the same, especially if you know people in other states with Republican election officials who may purge their rolls.  You can go to iwillvote.com and check it for any state. 

NEW!  SIGN UP TO HELP VOTERS CURE THEIR BALLOTS

Join our friends at VoteProPro, an Indivisible group focused on voter protection, to canvass voters whose mail-in ballot has errors.  Your role would be to visit voters at home and either help them in person or leave information so they can fix their ballot and have their vote counted.  Past canvassers report a fun, rewarding experience with voters who are very grateful for their assistance. These voters actually THANK YOU for helping them!

Every single vote matters in today’s close elections.  You will be canvassing Democratic voters whose mail ballot has an error, and therefore, their vote will not count without intervention. 

Where will you go? The focus is on winning competitive Congressional and state legislative races.  In addition to many counties throughout the state, they will be canvassing the counties surrounding Philadelphia but not in the city itself. You choose the county(ies) where you would like to help.

You will visit designated voters’ homes, either speak with them or leave literature, and record your results.  Every canvasser will have an easily accessible live support system at all times, and of course you can go with a partner.

SIGN UP TO BE A POLL OBSERVER

Poll Observers are the eyes and ears on the ground at polling places across the state on election day. They assist voters and ensure that every eligible voter can cast a ballot.  The PA Dems Voter Protection Team will train, assign, and support you to make sure that you are as effective as possible on Election Day.  It's great work so we hope you'll consider it!

JOIN THE PA DEMS VOTER ASSISTANCE TRAINING 

This virtual session is required for anyone volunteering with one or more of the following PA Dems Voter Protection programs: Voter Assistance Hotline, Voter Assistance Textline, Ballot Cure.  Sign up to help make sure voters get their ballots counted!

The PA Dems Campus Organizing Team is starting voter registration drives on college campuses and you can join in!  Sign up and get all the details.  

Where/When:  University of Pennsylvania, Tuesdays through Fridays at noon.  Pick the days you want and get students registered!

Clark Park 

Come out and help register voters at the Clark Park Farmers Market! We'll send the meetup information after you sign up. We will meet at 43rd St. and Baltimore Ave. We'll provide all the materials you need and a quick training at the beginning.

Registering voters will boost turnout in November!

NEXT FRIDAY, AUGUST 28 - MARCH ON WASHINGTON!

This August 28, we Indivisibles are called on to return to Washington -- a call led by the King family and Rev. Al Sharpton -- to defend the sacred right to vote, fight for our civil rights, and demand economic justice for our families and communities.

The program will begin at 9 AM ET at the Lincoln Memorial on the National Mall in Washington DC, but the organizers recommend you arrive at 8 AM ET to secure a spot.  Sign up here.

4.  Fitz Friday - 5:00 - 6:00 pm -- Protest at Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick's office at One Summit Square, Langhorne, PA. Bring signs about whatever you want. There's a lot to complain about!

5.  Every Wednesday  4:00 - 5:00 pm -- Join this resistance group at #WeThePeopleWednesdays for Singing for Sanity at High Point Cafe at Allens Lane.

6.  Every Thursday, 4:30 - 6:00 pm.  Join your Northern Liberties neighbors in peaceful protest at the corner of 2nd and Spring Garden Streets. Bring signs or borrow ours! 

7.  Every Wednesday at noon - Outside the Philadelphia ICE Office, 114 N. 8th Street.   Sponsored by New Sanctuary Movement.  This is a 40-week series of Interfaith Prayer Vigils.  

8. Every Monday at Noon - Monday at McCormick's -- Join Peace, Justice, Sustainability NOW for Monday's at McCormick's in front of Senator McCormick's office at 20th and Market Streets.
