Our Calls Worked--But We're Not Finished

Updated: Sep 25, 2023

Happy Tuesday, Activists! We hope your weekend was a good one. Today we want to let you know briefly that we'll have an added focus for the 2022 election. We are taking on the MAGA extremists directly. You'll hear more about it soon. If you've been watching the January 6 Committee hearings, you know that MAGA Republicans are intrinsically tied to the groups inciting this violence, and in some cases are the very people directly inciting the violence (we see you Scott Perry, Doug Mastriano). So we need to go all in on making sure we defend our democracy from MAGA radicals this November. For now, we start with our messaging reminders and of course talking to voters as much as possible. More to come soon.

MESSAGING CORNER Did you know that you are a credible, local messenger? It’s true. All of us together are well-positioned to remind our fellow Americans again, and again, and again, that MAGA extremists are a danger to us, to our communities, to our democracy, and should not be entrusted with more political power. Copy and paste this week's message below into a Facebook post (including the link at the end) or just click the highlighted link to tweet! ⇓ ⇓ ⇓ ⇓ ⇓ When everyone around you knows the truth but you still push for a coup because you hate to lose. The #January6thCommitteeHearings are taking no prisoners. @January6thCmte https://twitter.com/clairecmc/status/1535052066972127232 Click here to TWEET

CALL TO ACTION Sometimes it feels like politicians will never change their views. But read Senator Casey's recent explanation for his shift on gun safety regulations after Sandy Hook. His Op-Ed begins: "I’m a U.S. senator who has done something rare in today’s politics: I’ve changed my position on our nation’s gun laws. After doing so, I didn’t burst into flames or get run out of town. That’s how I know others can choose to do the same." Call our senators and demand that they support Sen. Murphy’s gun safety package. Sen. Murphy’s gun safety policy is a step in the right direction towards true reform. Make sure our senators know you support this policy while reminding them that there’s further to go. Sen. Casey – Phila office 215-405-9660; D.C. 202-224-6324; email link Sen. Toomey – Phila office 215-241-1090; D.C. 202-224-4254; email link For outside PA: Find your Senators’ phone numbers and emails at this link.
