Happy Tuesday, Activists!

We hope your week is off to a good start!  The Supreme Court didn't disappoint in some of its awful rulings yesterday and today, but at least we still have birthright citizenship.  Apparently some of them still know how to read the plain language of the Constitution.  But we'll keep moving on and fighting for who we really are.

By popular demand, we have just a few more World Cup video clips below.  We hope they bring you the joy the bring us!  Send us your favorites by replying to this email!

CALLS TO ACTION

You know, it's not just legislation this regime tries to use to reduce our country to a third-world dictatorship. They're also using regulations that they think will slide under the radar. But we do see them and we're pushing back!  Here are two:

#1.  First is a new rule under 2 C.F.R. from the Office of Management and Budget, headed by the regime enabler Russell Vought.  What do they want to do?  This new rule if approved would change the way grants have been approved for years, by making billions of dollars in funding for government agencies depend on the whims and desires of people in the Trump regime.   If the current rule is approved, it will enable politicians at OMB to decide whether or not they like any aspect of a grant proposal for health, science, transportation, or housing for instance.  Here's another explainer and a New York Times article here.

Under the rule, grants approved would be those that agree with Trump’s politics, not based on the merits of the grant itself. For instance, a scientific study would not be approved if it focuses on a group Trump doesn't favor.  Grants to Democratic majority cities for transportation or housing could be disallowed or cut off. This new rule could take effect October 1 if approved.

This rule has some specific and troubling characteristics: "Executive orders can be reversed by the next president. Agency guidance can be withdrawn.  [However,] a finalized regulation under 2 CFR carries the force of law, applies to every federal science agency (NIH, NSF, DOE, NASA, DOD, ARPA-H), and can only be undone through a new rulemaking process or congressional action."  So this is a big one.

But we have the chance to stop it!  Write a comment on the rule that you want scientists to approve funding of scientific studies. And that all grants should be approved by the people in the relevant field who can make an informed judgment.

Send your comments BEFORE JULY 13 using this form.  You can use the explainers above to craft your comments.  Make yours about your favorite topic that will be affected.  And then send your comment to your Representative and our Senators!

Find your Representative's phone number and email at this link and our Senators' at this link.

#2 And speaking of agency corruption, here's the CTA from Friday.  Good old Brendan Carr, Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, is at it again.

From Billy Penn: "The FCC began an early review of ABC stations’ licenses in April, citing an ongoing investigation into whether the network “engaged in prohibited practices by hiring, promoting, compensating, and/or providing workplace opportunities to people based on race, gender, or other protected characteristics in violation of federal nondiscrimination laws.”  Read more detail at Billy Penn here.  The FCC wants to control ABC's guest lineup for The View as well. invoking the "Equal Time" rule for politician guests. We call b.s. on all of it!  And apparently the FCC is investigating Comcast too, which owns NBC stations.

But we can tell them what we think about their pathetic actions!  Send a message to the FCC and tell them to leave ABC alone!  You can fill out the FCC form at this linkThe "FCC Proceeding" number for the first entry is 26-131
