Happy Tuesday, Activists!
We hope you had a wonderful weekend. Today we're thinking about the two-year anniversary of the infamous Dobbs decision on June 24, 2022. As you know, it stripped women of the right to control our bodies and lives. And if Justice Thomas is to be believed in his concurrence in the ruling, they're thinking about going further, to remove the right to same sex marriage, contraception and more. And IVF medicine is under attack in some states, to name just a few rights we must make sure we keep.
But we know how to turn back this troubling tide. We have the power to make the changes we need and we're using it! We talk to voters. We write to voters. We register voters. We'll engage voters in meaningful conversations about what's important in their lives in phone calls, texting and of course at their doors.
Next week we are knocking doors and writing postcards to do just that. See below and join us!
And while we're thinking about the Supreme Court, see our recent newsletter's Call To Action and make the calls for oversight of this out-of-control and ethically challenged court.
CANVASS AND TALK TO VOTERS
The most effective method to get voters to vote is talking face to face -- canvassing. Our first canvass of the year is on Saturday, June 22nd. We'll be up in Oxford Circle again and meet for breakfast, which is on us! These will be fact-finding conversations, to find out what's on voters' minds and ask about the issues most important in their lives. Simple as that. No trying to convince a MAGA voter to switch to a vote for Biden. We just need to get Democrats out to vote!
So if you want to canvass or you're not sure about canvassing, come to the training this Thursday and find out what it will involve.
Sign up for the training
At this training you will learn our techniques for talking to voters this time around. We'll be asking them what's on their minds and answering their questions. We'll also tell them about the infrastructure projects that you've been writing postcards about!

OUR NEXT POSTCARD EVENT
We had a fantastic postcard writing event last week! We had about 20 writers and we wrote about 800 postcards!
Our next one will be on Thursday, June 20th at 11:00 AM. Since June 24th is the two year anniversary of the infamous Dobbs ruling, we are focusing on abortion access with our special abortion rights postcard. We will supply them too!
Join us to write to voters and remind them that we can't let Republicans win, because as they have promised, they will continue to strip women of their rights.
When: Thursday, June 20th at 11:00 AM
Where: OCF Coffee Shop, 2100 Fairmount Ave, Philadelphia

VOTER REGISTRATION
Live in a high-rise apartment building?
We are setting up voter registration drives in the lobbies of apartment buildings. We would love some help making connections with building management, so if you live in an apartment building, let us know! Let's talk about how you could help us ask the management of your building about setting up a simple drive in the lobby. Email us at vicki@indivisiblephiladelphia.com and let's talk!
Register new citizens at US Citizenship and Immigration Services
The folks at PICC have started voter registration again at the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. First there is a mandatory training online and you can sign up at this link. Then you'll be all set to sign up to register new citizens! This is great work.
BE A NEIGHBORHOOD LEADER!
You can sign up and help save democracy! Join our 35 Doors Project and canvass to some doors right in your neighborhood. We give you everything you need for success! Reply to this newsletter to learn more.
