What You Did On Saturday

Happy Tuesday, Activists!
Wow, did we ever turn out on Saturday at our No Kings rally or what! You all were fantastic as we marched, carried signs, and stood in joyous camaraderie with our fellow fighters for democracy.
We want to take a minute to recognize what you all accomplished. Over this year, we have seen so many new volunteers join our group and other groups and organizations. And we've seen so many new Indivisible groups around the country. Why? Because we all are worried about our democracy; fearful about what will happen if we don't do something. So now more and more of our neighbors are coming out to protest, to call our elected officials, to join us in this movement. And the more visible we are, more people see that they too can do something to stand against this wannabe authoritarian regime.
Every time we have a big rally like Saturday's, more and more people see that regular, everyday people are coming out because they are worried too and decided to take action. Maybe they never thought of themselves as an activist, but they see their neighbors, other regular people, showing up and they realize they can too.
So on Saturday, when you came out, you did two big things. You showed the country and the world that we have power - the power of the people. And you showed other everyday people that they can come out and join us in a joyous, energetic, hardworking movement to help save our democracy. So good for you! And good for us all! We did a good thing on Saturday and you should be proud.
And now, we plan what comes next. We'll announce our plans soon!
Check out these photos and videos from Saturday. We'll have more later in the week.
Here is the full livestream here (with Leah and Ezra's speech closing out the rally).
Here is a fabulous video by our very own volunteer, Marie Conti.

CALL TO ACTION
The big disgusting bill is now being rewritten in the Senate before heading back to the House for a second vote. We want to maximize senators' changes and delay their process as much as we can -- because every change they make, and every day they take, will make it that much harder for the bill to pass both chambers.
Let's call our senators and demand they slow down the process and fight for SNAP and Medicaid. Senator Fetterman has said he is a NO vote because of the cuts to Medicaid and SNAP, but call and tell him to work to slow down the process to passage so voters have a chance to see the harm it will do to them. And call Senator McCormick, who is a YES vote so far. They must reject the budget-busting bill from the House.
