"No Crowns

No Thrones

No Kings"

~ Governor Gavin Newsom, November 5, 2025, celebrating the Prop 50 win.

Happy Thursday, Activists!

Woo-hoo!  What a night we had on Tuesday!  And you know why?  Because you showed up.  You wrote postcards.  You hung door hangers all over Philadelphia.  You canvassed as part of our 35 Doors program and with other groups.  You called voters.  You canvassed to cure ballots.  You donated!  AND YOU VOTED, and hopefully reminded your family and friends too!

Even if you think whatever you did was too small to matter - it all matters!  As always, we're in this together.  And we say No Crowns, No Thrones, No Kings!

So. Many. Wins!

You may have heard about some of these, but the results are too impressive to forget.  Here are some recaps of what happened on Tuesday.

Philadelphia turnout was the highest in a decade!  And New York City's the highest since 1969!  That sure shows how voters are feeling about this regime and that we want a better future than what they are offering.

You know about Mamdani, Spanberger, Sherrill - all fantastic wins.  And you may know that Virginia Democrats flipped 13 seats in the House of Delegates!  And in PA we saw all the judicial Democrats retained, which you did so much great work for.

We saw some incredible broader PA results too.  All of the PA races we can find were won by Democrats, and so many were flips.

In "Blue Wave Bucks County" too! Remember the rally we held a couple of years ago against the book-banning Moms For Liberty, to highlight what they were doing to the Bucks school boards?  Some of those book-banners got elected. But now?  Swept out of office and now those school board seats are all filled by Democrats.  And the Bucks sheriff who was collaborating with ICE?  Swept out of office.  Plus they now have a Dem D.A.  Our friends at Indivisible Bucks County have worked so hard to get these results.

Check out the many other suburban sweeps here too.

We hope you are taking a victory lap or two this week and taking a bit of a rest. We'll be back at it before you know it and of course with other non-election projects too.  But for now we celebrate the message these victories sends to all those who would tear apart our communities, our democracy, our country.  On Tuesday we said NO to that and YES to a better future!

CALL TO ACTION

Please continue to donate to Philabundance to help our community while SNAP benefits are not being paid.  This help is essential to help our neighbors make it through this very difficult period.

You can make a donation at this link for our special page, and see our progress toward our goal.  Any amount helps!  Please tell your friends and family about it too. All of your donation goes straight to Philabundance.  You can select the food you want your donation to go toward or you can just donate and let them decide.

And . . .

We need to keep telling our Democratic electeds to hold the line.  Call and thank them for their leadership and commitment in defending the enhanced ACA premium tax credits/subsidies and standing with families at risk of seeing major premium increases, and for defending SNAP benefits.  They must continue opposing any budget that lets Trump’s healthcare cuts and price increases take effect, or that hands him a blank check to keep terrorizing our communities.

And tell them Indivisible groups across Pennsylvania are donating to food banks, and holding community actions like food drives and volunteer shifts to reinforce that the community will step up as federal supports are threatened.  And they need to do their jobs by holding the line.

We also need to hold Republicans accountable for shutting down the government and throwing the country into chaos – all to appease their wannabe king.

If you want more detail about the impacts of these cuts to the ACA, check out our earlier newsletter at this link.

Call Senator McCormick and tell him Republicans are responsible for ending the shutdown and all the devastating impacts caused by it. They own it!  If there were any clearer sign that American voters are not happy about their policies, voters made it clear on Tuesday!

And call Senator Fetterman and impress on him that he must stand with his Democratic colleagues and take a stand against how the regime is harming people and what the skyrocketing cost of healthcare will do to his constituents.
