Happy Friday, Activists!

We hope your week is going well and looking forward to a nice weekend.  At least the sunshine in Philadelphia is a nice change of pace!  We've got a lot to do and a lot coming up!

 HELP FOR QUAKERTOWN STUDENTS

You may have seen the news about what happened to some high school kids in Quakertown last Friday.  They were protesting against ICE when an unidentified man barged into the crowd and accosted them.  It turns out this guy in a brown jacket was the MAGA chief of police Scott McElree.  Five students were arrested and held in jail for five days (the snow storm closed the courts for a couple of days) and some have been released to house arrest.  Some have been charged with aggravated assault, a felony.

Here is an explainer on Instagram (a lot of cursing, just fyi). You can share it too.  Here's a detailed series of videos on Facebook reels that show what happened throughout.

Here's what you can do to help:

1.  Sign the Change.Org Petition at this link calling for McElree’s resignation

2.  If you can, donate to the Go Fund Me campaign at this link, to help the students' legal defense.  Their parents have had to hire lawyers and these are families without means.3.  Contact Quakertown Administration to demand the resignation of Police Chief & Township Manager Scott C. McElree● Police department non-emergency phone line - 215-536-5002● Township email address - contact@quakertown.org● Town Council 215-536-5001 - They voted to put this MAGA police chief in place.

 CALL TO ACTION

TELL CONGRESS - NO WAR IN IRAN

Trump has had only a flimsy-to-nonexistent case for a potentially catastrophic military adventure and Iraq War-level false claims from his advisors and of course without authorization from Congress.  But some Democratic leaders have reportedly been hesitant to advance legislation aimed at preventing an attack.

So it’s up to us to demand a vote and let every Member of Congress know that the American people oppose more forever wars. Please call your representative today and demand they act to prevent a war with Iran.
