Giving Tuesday--Feeding Our Neighbors

Happy Monday, Activists!

We hope you all had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving weekend.

This is a quick reminder that tomorrow is Giving Tuesday– the global day of giving and unity that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give and celebrate generosity.

In the past we have come to you asking to make Indivisible Philadelphia part of your Giving Tuesday list. BUT, so many of you have supported Indivisible Philadelphia with your generous gifts over the past several months, so this year we think it is critically important to focus on helping to ensure that our communities are fed. Food insecurity during COVID has reached dire national levels, as reported in this NPR story and in this Washington Post story, to name a few. For the Philadelphia region, Feeding America has a Map The Meal Gap project that shows the local food insecurity levels across the country.

With CARES Act money running out, food insecurity levels are sure to rise. So please consider donating what you can to one of the groups below to help feed folks who are hurting the most right now. We know we can count on your generosity to make a difference. THANK YOU!

1. Philabundance – Philabundance provides services to increase our neighbors’ access to food through its network of partner agencies across nine counties in the Philadelphia area. You can select the area near you.

2. Coalition Against Hunger -- Using the link you can find and support a small food pantry in your local area in the Philadelphia region.

3. Feeding America – This link helps you find food banks across the country. You can search for one in your area outside the Philadelphia region as well.

We can’t thank you enough for your generosity this year. With the busy holiday season upon us, we know we can each make someone’s life a little easier through our gifts. We appreciate you!
