We hope you've been having a wonderful week or two.  We were away on vacation for a bit and it feels good to be back in the fight with you now!  There's just so much to do.

First we have an Indivisible meeting this week that you should attend if possible.  It starts the process to learn what we need to do to get ready to defend voting rights in this November's elections. 

CALLS TO ACTION

1.  Join Indivisible's Hands Off Our Vote kickoff call THIS Thursday July 30 at 8:00 PM for the national launch of the campaign to protect every single vote from Trump’s election subversion. Don’t wait until October to get into election protection formation! Our work starts NOW to build the foundation for an unshakeable movement equipped to defend voting rights and mobilize in rapid response moments if and when Republicans try to undermine free and fair elections. No matter where you live, you can help ensure every vote is counted this November.

2.  Call our Senators and tell them to oppose legislation that would entrench Trump-Netanyahu military partnership. Last week, the House narrowly passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) with provisions that would further interweave the US and the Israeli militaries through weapons development and intelligence sharing. However, Democrats were nearly united in opposition -- proof that we do not have to rubber-stamp Trump’s partnership with Netanyahu. Our senators must reject these provisions in the NDAA, but they need to hear from their constituents. Tell them to vote against provisions that would further integrate the US and Israeli militaries and to reject policies that deepen US complicity in violence across the region.

PROTEST CITIZENS BANK --  OOPS! THEY CAVED!!

As I'm sure you've read, Citizens Bank has announced it will no longer offer lending services to GEO Group and Core Civic (gift article), the notorious private concentration camp companies that Citizens has financially supported for many years.  So no, we do not have an upcoming protest against them now!  Our efforts have paid off - whether you went to protests or wrote letters to Citizens and the Phillies.  

Plus, an airplane banner!  Here is one of the articles, with a photo, about the plane banner over the All Star game that we arranged with two New Jersey Indivisible groups.  

Check out last night's coverage by Rachel Maddow!  As you'll see, this took many different efforts on many different fronts, in many different places.  Protests, letter-writing, encouraging groups and cities and towns to pull their money out of their Citizens accounts, volunteers in New England going to the company's shareholder meeting and protesting out front.  This is what it takes - all of us together using the resources and energy we might have, moving toward the same ultimate goal.  And it worked!  Ya'll take a bow!

Deliverance Health Fare

This is going to be a great event!  It's the Deliverance Health Clinic, a two-day health fare.  There will be FREE dental, medical, and vision screenings and services; Spin and Go mobile laundry; and MORE.  It's open to the community so it is likely to be well attended.  

Getting there: The #33 bus goes right there from Center City. There is a parking lot located in the rear of the building, with designated ADA accessible spots. Look for our table with the Indivisible tablecloth or the signs directing people to voter registration.

Rodin Museum

Come out and help register voters at the beautiful Rodin Museum during their Rodin Garden Bar event.  Listen to music, and enjoy the garden oasis.

We'll provide all the materials you need and a quick training at the beginning.

This is an outdoor, weather dependent event, so be sure to check your email that day in case of a last minute cancellation.

Don't forget - you can help women going to Moshannon

visiting their loved ones. 

Women trying to make their visits to loved ones at Moshannon are turned away over and over again for some shaky reasons or no reason at all.  Sometimes the reason is due to some of the articles of clothing they are wearing. You can send Indivisibles in the area items from this Amazon wish list (we know, it's Amazon, but it works).  Then volunteers will staff the areas outside the entry and hand out the "acceptable" clothing you donate.  (I believe the clothing can be re-used.)

4.  Fitz Friday - 5:00 - 6:00 pm -- Protest at Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick's office at One Summit Square, Langhorne, PA. Bring signs about whatever you want. There's a lot to complain about!

5.  Every Wednesday  4:00 - 5:00 pm -- Join this resistance group at #WeThePeopleWednesdays for Singing for Sanity at High Point Cafe at Allens Lane.

6.  Every Thursday, 4:30 - 6:00 pm.  Join your Northern Liberties neighbors in peaceful protest at the corner of 2nd and Spring Garden Streets. Bring signs or borrow ours! 

7.  Every Wednesday at noon - Outside the Philadelphia ICE Office, 114 N. 8th Street.   Sponsored by New Sanctuary Movement.  This is a 40-week series of Interfaith Prayer Vigils.
