Happy Tuesday, Activists!
We hope you had a good weekend. If you missed it, check out our newsletter from last Tuesday at this link for more information. Today we have a selection of meetings, marches and protests for you. We look forward to seeing you there!
RECAP OF MOSHANNON DETENTION CENTER PROTEST
The protest out at Moshannon Valley Detention Facility was a big success. Check out this article about it in the local news, with photos and commentary.
SUPPORT LABOR UNIONS ON LABOR DAY!
Join us next Monday, September 1, to support our unions at this time when they are under threat. We'll meet to join our friends from Peace, Justice and Sustainability Now and other groups also supporting this. We'll be on Delaware Avenue near Washington Avenue (in the abandoned railroad tracks) as the a group of unions organized by AFSCE District Council 47 launches their Labor Day parade down Delaware Ave (the street will be closed). Bring your signs - showing support for unions or against the regime that wants to abolish them.
The groups will assemble between 9:00 and 10:00 and the parade begins at 10:00. This is on the abandoned tracks across from the Sheetmetal Workers Union hall on Delaware Ave. See this map for details.
We'll be there for only about half an hour as the parade goes by. Then we'll head to the Monday's at McCormick's protest at 20th and Market Streets. See you there!

![]() Our Next One Million Rising Meeting - In NW Philly This Time!
We are having another in-person meeting - this time in NW Philly on Monday, September 8 at 6:00 PM. We'll plan the ways we all can practice effective non-cooperation, just as the team discussed in the Indivisible trainings. We'll talk about the pillars of support of the autocracy and how we can convince a pillar it's not in their interest to cooperate.
We'll have a quick review of why we are doing this and how this strategy works in breaking down the pillars of the autocracy's support. Then we'll meet in small groups to discuss what part of a pillar each of us is involved in. Are we in an alumni association, a professional association, a faith group, are you just a consumer? This is your power! Sign up here to learn more.
Please invite a couple of friends and neighbors too and they can join your small group. And we'll have pizza and beverages!
Join our next One Million Rising meeting When: Monday, September 8 at 6:00 PM. Where: Chestnut Hill Friends Meeting House, 20 E Mermaid Ln, Philadelphia

We scheduled two trainings and they've already filled up! So, due to popular demand we have added a third. It's wonderful to see so many of you signing up to do this important work.
For background, since we're planning to hold voter registration events all over Philadelphia on National Voter Registration Day on 9/16, we need many trained volunteers to handle the registrations. To be ready for the big day, we're holding these refreshers and trainings to make sure everyone knows how to confidently register voters. Join us!
