Don't Forget Epstein

Happy Tuesday, Activists!
We hope you're maintaining sanity in all this mess. We will get through it, together.
This is where I use the hackneyed expression about needing to walk and chew gum at the same time. On the one hand we have to push against the outrageous U.S. attack on Venezuela this weekend, with no real explanation or plan from the Trump regime.
But we also can't let them get away with continuing to flaunt the law and fail to produce the Epstein files. So we need to push them to produce them. The pathetic showing by DOJ so far cannot stand. They may think we'll be distracted and forget about it, but we won't.
CALLS TO ACTION
Tell Congress - Demand Action on the Release of the Epstein Files
The Trump regime has blown past the December 19 legal deadline set by the Epstein Transparency Act to release all the Epstein Files. In a filing yesterday, DOJ said the department had released 12,285 documents. That's out of the 2 million documents it says it intends to release "by January 20." This government-wide cover-up was already a scandal -- now, it’s blatantly illegal.
Email or call and leave a message to our Members of Congress demanding to know what they’ll do to uphold the law and give Epstein’s survivors the justice they deserve. Contact info is below.
Tell Them Again - No War. No Blood For Oil.
Trump will continue this power grab in Venezuela unless he's stopped. He'll escalate violence in the region and put US service members and civilians in danger unnecessarily. We need Congress to check this regime’s lawless violence, or there’s no telling where it will end. The Constitution states clearly that war powers belong to Congress—not the White House. Tell Congress members to push against Trump with everything in their power.
Tell our Senators you expect them to do everything in their power to stand up to Trump and prevent war with Venezuela. We need lower prices, not another unnecessary, dangerous war. Ask them to vote yes on Senator Kaine's War Powers Act bill in the Senate. It's likely to be voted on soon. See yesterday's newsletter here for more details.

MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR. DAY OF SERVICE
As part of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service, we'll be at SHARE Food Program. Join us at SHARE to pack up food for distribution and do whatever else the organization needs us to help with. This is how we honor Dr. King while helping our community.
Please note, space is limited so please do not sign up if you're not sure you'll make it. We don't want volunteers to be turned away because a space is filled by someone ultimately doesn't come. Thanks.
When: Monday, January 19, 9:00 - 11:30 AM Where: 3111 W Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19132
TODAY IS JANUARY 6TH
As we remember the treasonous spectacle of January 6, 2021, on the fifth anniversary it looks like Trump is doing his best to rewrite history. He wants people to remember it as "a day of love" and he pardoned nearly every rioter, calling them "great patriots." His administration has pushed a version of events that does not match the reality of what happened, and what we all saw in real time and on video. Our job is to make sure he doesn't succeed.
One easy way to spread the truth, so Americans and history itself remember it correctly, is to check out NPR's new January 6th Public Archive. It's a huge collection of first hand accounts of what happened and a ton of video and audio records, from evidence vetted in court. They also interviewed "rioters in jail as they awaited trial, police officers who defended the Capitol, and the families of both Ashli Babbitt, a rioter who was shot and killed by police, and Brian Sicknick, a Capitol Police officer who suffered multiple strokes after being pepper sprayed by the mob."
As NPR says, "We’ve envisioned the archive to be like a Jan. 6 museum — you can wander through the timeline of what happened that day, go deep on some of the most persistent myths, search the database by name and explore charges, outcomes, and key court records . In hundreds of cases you can also view video evidence pulled from federal exhibits. (Fair warning: many of the videos include profanity and violence.)"
We ask you to share this far and wide - with friends, family, on social media. We need to get the truth out as much as possible to combat Trump's huge messaging machine.
