Happy New Year, You Beautiful Activists!

We hope you've had a wonderful holiday.  2025 was a tough year but we not only "got through" it, we pushed and pushed it back.  The troubles are far from over, and may get worse before they're over.  But we fought back over and over again and it worked.  Think about the signs that the tide is turning, like the big election wins; our No Kings successes with the growing crowds of supporters showing they just won't take it; the signs that the Democrats - and the Supreme Court!? - may be waking up; and yesterday's hopeful and exhilarating Mamdani inauguration.  And so much more.  You were in every bit of it and we are so proud to be in this with you.  We'll all keep pushing and standing up this year too.

Here's a quick reminder to come join us tomorrow at our Citizens Bank protests.  You have two options for bank branch locations, below.  We're also changing it to only one hour long since it will be so cold!

 PROTEST AT CITIZENS BANK

Most people don't know this about Citizens Bank, and we're telling them.  It has long financed private prison and detention facility companies even though there have been years of evidence of forced labor, healthcare neglect, and other abuses. Citizens is a lender to companies like CoreCivic and GEO Group, which have caused widespread, documented harm to people in their facilities.

In Pennsylvania, GEO operates the Moshannon Valley Processing Center, the largest ICE detention facility in the Northeast.  It is where most of our neighbors are taken after ICE abducts them off the street.  It is a cruel and inhumane place.

Join us at our protests outside Citizen branches - this Saturday at the two listed below.  We'll have handouts for you to give people walking by and you can bring your signs!

When:  TOMORROW, January 3rd, 10:00AM to 11:00AM

Where: Two locations for you to choose from -

1515 Market Street - Sign up here

900 South Street (near Whole Foods) - Sign up here

JOIN OUR LEAFLET PHILLY TEAM!

Join this exciting team and hang door hangers once a month. It's easy and effective!

Here's how it works. You'll receive 100 door hangers to hang on door knobs up and down the block. We'll give you the specific blocks near your home for you to go to.

We're currently dropping over 50,000 door hangers around the city right now - that's 10% of the city's reachable doors!  We're reminding people that those higher food prices for their holiday meals are not in their imagination - plus who is causing it and who to call about it.
