Happy Friday, Activists!

We hope you've been having a good week despite the heat.  You can check out this week's joyous World Cup video clips in Tuesday's newsletter.  We hope they bring you the joy they bring us.  Send us your favorites by replying to this email!

You can also see the Calls To Action in Tuesday's newsletter and especially the one about getting politicians' hands off our science research!   We have another one below.

And most of all, we hope you have a wonderful July 4th weekend!

CALL TO ACTION

While recent news reports suggest an increase in ICE enforcement activity nationwide, Pennsylvanians have been living in this reality for more than a year.  The freedom we celebrate tomorrow, to live in our communities without fear, is a fundamental right shared by every person in the United States.

From violent detentions across the Commonwealth to agents discharging their weapons in our state capital, ICE’s reckless actions and lack of accountability make all Pennsylvanians less safe.

Pennsylvania ranks in the top 10 states with the most immigration arrests from January 2025 to March 2026.  As you know, Pennsylvania is home to the Moshannon Valley Detention Center, the largest ICE detention center in the northeast.

Abraxas Academy, a facility with decades of abuse allegations, located right here in PA, holds a $9.2 million contract with the federal government to house unaccompanied immigrant children.

Call your Representative and our senators to tell them you oppose Trump's mass deportation regime and you demand they stop it.  After that, sign up for Indivisible's Immigrant Justice Summer Training Series to learn what we all can do to show up for immigrant justice when ICE comes to our communities.

AND SPEAKING OF DETENTION CAMPS -

WRITE LETTERS IN OUR TWO LETTER-WRITING PROJECTS

These letters put pressure on companies that profit from detention camps, or to not start profiting from them in the first place.

1) Our Detention Camp Labor Project where you'll join over 860 other letter-writers in pushing companies to commit to not use detention camp labor.  The DCL Team emails volunteers weekly lists of a few corporations or organizations to send letters to. These emails will include details about how to address your letters and key talking points.

2) Our Citizens Bank Letter Project, where you'll write directly to Citizens Bank and other of their partners, demanding they stop their financial relationship with detention camp companies GEO Group and CoreCivic. These letters are a adjunct to all of our other Citizens Bank protest efforts.

Our next protest is July 11th.  Signup coming soon!
