We hope you had a great weekend.  You can check out last last Thursday's important newsletter about our fantastic Leaflet Philly Project and how you can get involved and help us strengthen this successful project. 

How about some good news for a change?  Remember that last week we made calls to tell our senators to vote NO on the CLARITY Act, the supposed crypto regulation bill, that would do nothing to rein in Trump’s crypto corruption.  Here's the good news - the Senate failed to pass the CLARITY Act before leaving for August recess!  We'll take it!

WANT TO BE ON OUR NEW HOME TEAM?

Are you able only to do the work with us from home?  If you have small children, a busy job, limited mobility, our new Home Team Project may be just right for you.  This is for those who want to know how they can contribute from home. We aim to enhance the experience of activists who need or prefer to do their work from their home.

ARE YOU AFFILIATED WITH YALE?

Tell them not to capitulate in advance!

In June, news broke that Yale was negotiating with the regime over the Department of Justice’s politically-motivated investigation into the university’s admissions practices. Instead of standing up for students, McInnis is complying in advance and giving in to the classic authoritarian playbook that targets academic institutions and silences dissent. McInnis must defend students and reject Trump’s weaponization of the DOJ to push his fascist agenda at Yale. If Trump gets his way, we know he won’t stop with Yale -- academic freedom for students on every college campus in the US will be in jeopardy.

If you have any Yale affiliation - or know someone who does - you can sign the petition to tell Yale and President McInnis to refuse to cave to Trump or tell someone connected to Yale they can help.

Join the call next Thursday, August 20 at 8:00 pm to learn how to get your community trained up and ready to demand accountability and ensure protection before an ICE surge hits (8:00 pm).

When ICE shows up in our neighborhoods, it’s crucial that we have a grounded system to channel people, training, and resources in the right direction. Without a plan in place, energy scatters and well-intentioned neighbors sometimes create structures parallel to the immigrant-led response already in progress.

This call guides you on the training necessary to build a link tree, an online tool that acts as your community's front door so neighbors can easily find the information they need to show up in an immigrant-aligned, hyper-local, and safe response.

Our friends at Indivisible Mt. Airy Neighbors are hosting a meeting to discuss how to fight back against detention centers and win that fight. SIGN UP TO BE A POLL OBSERVER

Poll Observers are the eyes and ears on the ground at polling places across the state on election day. They assist voters and ensure that every eligible voter can cast a ballot.  The PA Dems Voter Protection Team will train, assign, and support you to make sure that you are as effective as possible on Election Day.  It's great work so we hope you'll consider it!

TRAINING SERIES

Indivisible has started it's Hands Off Our Vote program to protect the midterm elections.  We will work to counter the regime's chaos with robust preparation to block election subversion.

If you’re ready to jump in, check out their  Election Protection 101 and 201 trainings later this month and  the toolkit to get involved. Remember, if you sign up but can't attend live, you'll receive the recording and all the information from the meeting.

BRING THE EPSTEIN FILES TO PHILLY!

Want to make sure the Epsteiin Files stay front of mind for our elected officials?  Let's bring the files to Philly! Have you heard about the Trump Epstein Bookmobile?  It's the ingenious project in which the founders copied all of the Epstein file documents released so far, printed them out - all 3.5 million files, and loaded them into notebooks.  They have been on view for people who come to the building where they were housed in New York City.  

But now, they are on the road in a truck!  They are visiting cities around the country and you can vote for them to come to Philadelphia so the public can view them here.  It's every page that has been released, and a demand for every page they still won't.  See what they're covering up.  It's important that the public sees at least some of them so we can push our elected officials to get the rest released.  We don't what any of them to forget about this massive injustice!  Here's the link for more info and to vote!

4.  Fitz Friday - 5:00 - 6:00 pm -- Protest at Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick's office at One Summit Square, Langhorne, PA. Bring signs about whatever you want. There's a lot to complain about!

5.  Every Wednesday  4:00 - 5:00 pm -- Join this resistance group at #WeThePeopleWednesdays for Singing for Sanity at High Point Cafe at Allens Lane.

6.  Every Thursday, 4:30 - 6:00 pm.  Join your Northern Liberties neighbors in peaceful protest at the corner of 2nd and Spring Garden Streets. Bring signs or borrow ours! 

7.  Every Wednesday at noon - Outside the Philadelphia ICE Office, 114 N. 8th Street.   Sponsored by New Sanctuary Movement.  This is a 40-week series of Interfaith Prayer Vigils.  

8. Every Monday at Noon - Monday at McCormick's -- Join Peace, Justice, Sustainability NOW for Monday's at McCormick's in front of Senator McCormick's office at 20th and Market Streets.
