Happy Tuesday, Activists!

We hope you had a great weekend. The big disgusting budget bill has passed the House and is up for review in the Senate now.  It most likely will be changed in the Senate and go back to the House for another vote.  So now we need to pressure our senators to vote to remove some of the most egregious sections of this bill.

See below for your script and to make the calls and send email.  And see how you can help get out the word about our June 14th NO KINGS rally!

June 14th is a busy day!  It's Flag Day and it's the 250th birthday of the U.S. Army.  It's also the day Trump has announced a big military parade for his birthday.  Sounds like a great day for a rousing, non-violent, and huge protest to shout we have NO KINGS in this country!  So let's get to it!

Activists won't be in D.C. for this event because we don't want to feed his ego.  As a result, Philadelphia is the NATIONAL ANCHOR EVENT FOR JUNE 14TH!  We want this to be a really big event, so check out below some things you can do to spread the word.

We will start at Love Park, 15th and JFK Boulevard, at Noon.  Then we'll march to the Art Museum for the rally.  Sign up here.  And after you sign up, tell your friends to sign up too.  This is going to be fantastic!  Once you sign up you'll get any updates we send out.

Also, we will need marshals/peacekeepers to help direct the crowd and deescalate potential conflict.  You can sign up here.  No experience is necessary and you will be trained and have all the information you need for success.

You can use this graphic to spread the word.

Post this graphic in your social media feed.  Save the graphic first and then post it.  The QR code goes to the signup form as does the link below it.  👇🏼

HELP PROMOTE THE JUNE 14TH RALLY!

Do you have a little time to spread the word about our June 14th NO KINGS rally?  We've got materials for you to do that with!  You can pick up the flyers at __________ and take them around your neighborhood to friendly shops where they can display them.

 CALLS TO ACTION

Tell our senators to GET LOUD

1.  You may know that the GOP has hidden a reckless provision to shield Trump officials from contempt of court in their Medicaid-slashing megabill. We need to get Republican senators on the record about that sneak-attack on democracy -- and push Democrats to disrupt Republicans’ anti-democracy agenda with every tool at their disposal.

Call and email our senators and demand they speak out LOUDLY against the No Contempt Clause (H.R. 1 SEC. 70302)!

Tell them that no person or branch of government should be above the law. In its un-American rush to hand Trump king-like powers, this provision would also reverse decades of case law impacting personal freedoms, civil rights, election procedures, and more.

2.  And there's more you can do to defeat the tax scam bill.  Indivisible is making sure vulnerable senators hear from their angry constituents.  As the Senate rewrites the reconciliation bill, you can call people to connect them directly to senators' offices and tell them to vote NO on the tax scam! Phonebanks happen weekly, and anyone can join with just a phone and computer.

Sign up here to call folks in these key states.

Here’s a recorded phonebank training to hit the ground running!

3.  You can still make calls about fully Funding SEPTA --  Find out more and how to make the calls in our earlier newsletter at this link.

YOU CAN HELP PLANNED PARENTHOOD

NEW LOCATION

On June 7, anti-choice activists will be attempting to block the entrance to the Womens' Health Center, 777 Appletree St., just north of 8th and Arch. They will try to intimidate patients from obtaining the healthcare they are entitled to.

You can help stop this intimidation by showing up with others for only a short time - from 9:00 to 10:00 am to peacefully block access to their route and keep this group from gaining access to the area right around the clinic.

How can you do this? (Note the change in location.)  Simply show up at the Womens' Health Center, 777 Appletree St. at 9:00 am and follow instructions from the volunteer leaders.

LEAFLET PHILLY!

We're gearing up for our next round of leaflets - this time about the cuts to medical research. Sign up here to join this fantastic team.

This project is a fun, easy way to increase voter engagement across Philadelphia (and maybe burn off some of that anxiety we're all feeling).

Each month we design a door hanger with a simple, timely and compelling message for our neighbors. The door hangers will link Republicans to the chaos and misery they create and show Philadelphians how they can take action — with the goals of moving people into action and of increasing voter turnout over the next four years.  Sign up here. You'll get 100 door hangers to simply hang on every door up and down blocks near you.  It’s quick and easy — no knocking, no lists, just leave the leaflet on the door and stroll on to the next one! You pick the day that’s most convenient for you and repeat a month later.
