Stop The Iran War

Happy Tuesday, Activists! 

 

Just a quick reminder of the ultimate law of our land: 

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Article. I. . . .

Section. 8.

The Congress shall have Power . . . To declare War, grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal, and make Rules concerning Captures on Land and Water;"

 

But Operation Epstein Epic Fury has not followed the requirements in the Constitution.  We need to keep pushing Congress to pass a law to reassert its power granted in Article 1, Section 8.  

 CALL TO ACTION

TELL CONGRESS - STOP THE WAR IN IRAN

 

1.  Congress must vote YES on the War Powers Resolution

Trump's reckless and unconstitutional Iran escalation has already led to the deaths of, as of this writing, six US service members and hundreds of Iranians civilians. Americans didn't ask for this war and we absolutely don't support it. Members of Congress must use every lever in their toolbox to put an immediate end to it. Let all your Members of Congress know: We won't accept anything less.

 

That’s why the War Powers Resolution vote this week -- forced by Rep. Ro Khanna and Rep. Thomas Massie, the same pair who brought you the Epstein files bill -- is so crucial. It will come to the floor for a vote tomorrow or Thursday.  War Powers resolutions are privileged, which means they can be brought to the floor without Republican leadership’s agreement. Republican leadership can try to win the vote, but they can’t stop the vote. 

 

Call our House Members and Senators and tell them they must vote to reign in this lawless regime and vote YES on this Resolution.  It’s up to us to demand a vote and let every Member of Congress know that the American people oppose more forever wars.

 

2.  Keep at it - Call And Tell Them To Vote NO On DHS Funding

Senate Dems have an opportunity to pull their funding through NO votes on a bill coming up to fund Homeland Security.  Not surprisingly, a bunch of House Dems caved and voted for the bill.  It's coming up for a vote in the Senate soon, so we need to call our senators and demand they refuse to vote for more ICE funding. 

 

Call our senators and demand they vote NO on the DHS funding bill until strict provisions are included.
