Happy Tuesday, Activists!

We hope you had a great weekend.  As you all know we have a lot to do to fight against this regime.  Fortunately, Indivisible has a plan and we have events this week for you to participate in. There are more coming in the coming weeks too for us to push against them. It's a busy one today folks so take a deep breath and read on.  😁

And also, when you can, please be sure to take a break with family and friends from time to time.  The expression "It's a marathon not a sprint." couldn't be more on point right now!

GOOD TROUBLE LIVES ON!

This Thursday we honor the legacy of John Lewis during this national day of nonviolent action.  It's another response to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump regime and to remind them, through public protests and community events, that in America, the power lies with the people.

You have two options for Thursday - a protest rally and a community service event.

FIRST, THE RALLY:

Come to City Hall this Thursday for a protest rally from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  The group Transformative Justice Coalition is hosting this rally.  It will be on the South apron of City Hall with speakers and signs.

You'll hear from speakers about the effects of Trump's cuts to our agencies and the damage to our country from the Big Disgusting Bill that just became law.  Seating will be provided for those with mobility issues and there will be sign language interpreters as well.

Sign up here.

SHARE FOOD PROGRAM

Also for this day of action we will prepare food boxes at Share food program from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.  Details are below.

Sign up here

Share is Philadelphia's largest food distribution program.  It is is now "the leading hunger relief organization in our region, and one of the largest independent food banks in the nation." It provides food to those in need, from seniors to the children in the National School Lunch Program and is a much-needed resource in the Philadelphia area.

Good news!  We were just told that due to another group's cancellation we can now bring up to 30 volunteers, so feel free to sign up!  But please sign up only if you really plan to come.  We will also have a waiting list, so this is on a first come first served basis.  Once you sign up we will have some more information for you to meet the requirements for working around food.

Where:  3111 W. Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia.

When:  Thursday, July 17th, 1:00 to 3:00 pm

ONE MILLION RISING

Join This Super Important Training This Wednesday!

Indivisible is launching a nationwide effort to train one million people to lead effective non-cooperation at every level.  The idea is to train one million people in the strategic logic and practice of non-cooperation, as well as the basics of community organizing and campaign design.

Fighting back requires more than one-off days of protest or calls to Congress (both still vitally important). It requires us to expand our toolbox and construct millions of points of defiance that grind the gears of the regime.

The first training is tomorrow!  Sign up!

Let’s build a force bigger than fear and louder than hate.

Let’s get ready.

Let’s get organized.

Let’s stop Trump.

Meetings are Wednesdays from 8 - 9 pm - July 16, July 30, August 13

Sign up here for these super important training sessions.

ALSO, this Thursday at 3:00 pm

Join Leah and Ezra for this week's special What's The Plan? meeting

Every Thursday at 3pm ET (12pm PT), Leah Greenberg and Ezra Levin go live to take questions from Indivisible activists. This week they’ll be joined by a special guest -- Professor Erica Chenoweth (the scholar behind the 3.5% rule) -- to dig into the strategic logic of our One Million Rising campaign.

DEMAND OUR STATE AND LOCAL DEMS

STAND UP AGAINST ICE RAIDS

Yes, we need to continue to call and email them and demand they take these actions.  We know that our governor, Democratic lawmakers and our city government have the power to stop secret police tactics like abductions by masked ICE agents. The rise of masked law enforcement and ICE overreach is a federal and local emergency.  The threats are real, and the time for them to act is now.  We need to demand our electeds stand up now.

For Governor Shapiro -- Demand he issue an executive order requiring all law enforcement in our state to display visible identification and refuse cooperation with secretive ICE raids.  Demand he also support legislation that bans masked law enforcement, strengthens sanctuary protections, and increases oversight of federal immigration activity.

For Democratic state legislators -- Demand they work to enact and publicly support legislation like California’s No Secret Police Act that bans masked and unidentifiable law enforcement.  Demand they ban masked law enforcement, strengthen sanctuary protections, and increase oversight of federal immigration activity.

For Philadelphia City Council -- Demand they speak out publicly to condemn these politically motivated tactics and stand with the immigrant and international communities under threat.  Tell them they can ban secret police tactics, cut off ICE cooperation, and strengthen sanctuary protections.  They must step up and protect our community.

Here are the contacts --

CALL OUR SENATORS - VOTE NO ON BOVE

Trump has nominated Emil Bove III for a lifetime appointment on the 3rd circuit Court of Appeals, which includes PA, NJ, DE, USVI.  Yes!  Right here in the northeast.  And the vote has not happened yet.

Let's remember his very checkered and disgusting past: "His role as enforcer of the alleged extortion of New York City Mayor Eric Adams to cooperate in the Trump administration’s migrant roundups in exchange for dropping the federal corruption case against him."  Then there was Bove’s dismissal of FBI agents and prosecutors who inverstigated the January 6th insurrection.

And of course, there was the shocking whistleblower account "that Bove said, in response to a federal court ruling against the administration’s immigration deportation policy: “DoJ would need to consider telling the courts ‘fuck you’ and ignore any such order.”Obviously this behavior is disqualifying for lifetime appointment to federal judicial service.  Let's take action and call our senators and demand they vote NO on his nomination.  Remind them about these examples of his behavior in case they have forgotten!

LEAFLET PHILLY!

Today's the last day to sign up and be part of the July leaflet drop!  If you sign up after today no problem! You'll be ready to go in August.  This program is for people who live in Philadelphia, as at the moment we can't assign blocks for those in other counties. Sign up here to join this fantastic team.

This project is a fun, easy way to increase voter engagement across Philadelphia (and maybe burn off some of that anxiety we're all feeling).

Each month we design a door hanger with a simple, timely and compelling message for our neighbors. The door hangers will link Republicans to the chaos and misery they create and show Philadelphians how they can take action — with the goals of moving people into action and of increasing voter turnout over the next four years.  Sign up here. You'll get 100 door hangers to simply hang on every door up and down blocks near you.  It’s quick and easy — no knocking, just leave the leaflet on the door and stroll on to the next one! We'll give you a walk list.  You pick the day that’s most convenient for you and repeat a month later.   Sign up here.

Here's the new July door hanger, which will be distributed starting next week. 👇
